NOTES
OAK VALLEY CHALLENGES NCDGA GOLFERS
21 golfers showed up for the first offical tournament of the golf season at Oak Valley on
March 20, 2004. We had a special meeting to go over some changes to the by-laws. If you're
curious to what happened, be sure to check out the minutes in the "NEWS" page and find out!
The weather was nice and a little chilly. Congratulations to the TRAID golfers for hosting such
a competitive tournament. Golfers were divided into three-man captain choice teams The "A"
golfer had to hit every shot first which made it more fun for the teams. "Flying hands" to
Charles Dawkins for winning the NCDGA closest to the pin on the 16th hole. He beat out Robert
Ritch and Stephen Woodward for the $15.00 and he was lucky enough to win it back! The results
were so close that four teams tied for third with a score of 72 behind the winning score of Lynn
Emmett's team who finished with a 69. The last place team won the most money in the bet
categories. Is there something wrong with this picture?

golfering friends. The next tournament will be Lincoln Country Club in Lincolnton, NC.
The tee time is at 1:30 p.m. Please be there one hour prior to tee time. The format will be
handicap (no flights) along with flight bets. Please mail your entry fees ($53 covers everything)
to Scott Skelton. For more information, please check it out on the website. This tournament
will be hosted by Scott Skelton, Stephan Woodward, Billy Kanoy and Lynn Emmett. We
