LAKE LURE, N.C. ----- Vic Cassell picked
up his first career NCDGA Tour victory at Bald Mountain Golf course played August 16th. Cassell shot a closing 88 to score a 1
shot victory over Chris McMahan. The rest of the field of fourteen struggled to conquer the rolling fairways and hidden greens
that at times seemed to come out of nowhere. Your precise drives and approaching shots here are a "must". On some of the holes if
you look up, you'll see the 2,800 foot Rumbling Bald mountain with its rock faced cliffs towering over the course. It is a beautiful
sight to see. Here at Rumbling Bald Mountain Resort there are two golf courses, Bald Mountain and Apple Valley. Most of the members
believe they rather play Apple Valley next year and hope they can hold their scores down a bit.
Cassell, a two year member of NCDGA is also a member of SCDGA in South Carolina and he presently lives in Greensville, SC.
NCDGA members are proud to have him as a member, not so much that he won, but for his great friendly personality.
