INDIAN VALLEY GOLF CLUB
Burlington, NC
October 15th
Darrel Moore had no way of knowing what was happening
elsewhere at
the Indian Valley Golf Club, but we're sure he had high hopes his lead might be safe for another win. Surely as
the sun rises, Darrell posted a gross score of 81 to outdo Charles Crowe for the win.
There were 17 NCDGA golfers in all taken on the Ellis Maples design course. The course was built on the banks of Haw River. Everyone
seemed to have a good time playing the short course. With five water holes, tree line fairways and dog legs right and left made it
a fairly tough experience. The challenge was to keep the ball in play, otherwise you can bet your bottom dollar you were
in trouble.
This is the second tournament Darrell Mooore has
hosted in the past two years and yes, he has managed to win both of them. It is also a fact that in his first tournament he as well
beat Charles Crowe for the win. What a
contingent..
NCDGA wants to give
a big thanks to Darrel and his associates, Leon Barnwell and Jamie Moore for the great support they have provided in hosting
a splended tournament.
Coming up in November is the NCDGA Championship
tournament. We are sure Darrel Moore has his sights set on winning that tournament, too. If he does win, it will make it two years
in a row. But he has to overcome the two leader, Charles Crowe and Robert Ritch, who at the present are separated by a point for the
Championship.
